OCHI
Decriminalize Nature's Oakland Community Healing Initiative
What is OCHI?
This ordinance would effectively create a regulatory framework enabling practitioners and facilitators to receive legal protections under a community-based healing ordinance in exchange for agreeing to abide by safe practice guidelines and principles developed by leaders and experts in plant-based healing ceremonies.
Who is the DN Team?
We are a diverse team including Black community organizers, City Council experts, entheogen PHDs, Indigenous plant healers with decades of experience, and LGBTQ organizers and advocates. Our latest ordinance is even bigger.
Why Now?
Members of these vulnerable communities are not receiving adequate mental health services in our country, and now with a global pandemic and increasing economic disparities, the situation is worsening. The solution we’re offering the city is to bring the ancient wisdom and practices that have enabled communities to heal for centuries, together with modern science and harm reduction techniques.

FAQs
Our goal is to have these costs be as low as possible (sliding scale). Ideally we are working with Community Organizations, Facilitators, and the City of Oakland to determine these.
Support the movement!
The Decriminalize Nature team is working hard behind the scenes to bring educational information to the Oakland community. But we need your support to continue!
