Decriminalize Nature Philly Welcomes You!

Decriminalize Nature Philadelphia is an 501(c)4 grassroots lobbying and political advocacy organization based in Philadelphia and registered with the IRS and State of Pennsylvania.

We formed in 2020 and incorporated as a (c)4 in 2023. Our mission objective is to pass a resolution that would decriminalize natural entheogens/psychedelics here.

Our campaign draws inspiration from the decriminalization of natural psychedelics in 25 cities, including major cities such as Denver, Oakland, Detroit, Washington DC, Seattle, San Francisco, Minneapolis, et al., as well as the state of Colorado; aiming to persuade local policymakers to prioritize public health, risk reduction, and responsible exploration of consciousness and spirituality through education over punitive measures for individuals who use these sacred plants and fungi.

Natural entheogens and psychedelics have been integral to the spiritual and religious practices of cultures around the world for millennia, from the ancient Indians and Greeks to cultures throughout what is now known as the Americas. They are generally safe when proper risk reduction guidelines are adhered to, including understanding of dosage, as with any other medicine.

OUR MISSION

Improve human health and well-being by decriminalizing and expanding access to entheogenic plants and fungi through political and community organizing, education and advocacy in the Philadelphia, PA area.

OUR VISION

We envision happier, healthier individuals and communities reconnected to nature and entheogenic plant and fungi traditions and practices.

OUR PURPOSE

To decriminalize entheogenic plants, restore our root connection to nature, and improve human health and well-being.

Why Decriminalize Entheogenic Plants?

The government has no legitimate authority to restrict access to plants and fungi. These natural substances were criminalized under the Nixon administration based on politics, not science. While some organizations seek approval through federal agencies like the DEA and FDA, Decriminalize Nature believes growing, gathering, and gifting entheogens is a basic human right.

Decriminalizing these sacred plants and fungi allows communities to reconnect with their ancient uses, free from government and corporate control. People should have the freedom to heal, pursue personal and spiritual growth, and explore consciousness on their own terms. Criminalization has caused stigma, job loss, and incarceration—we aim to end that.

There are 4 main types of entheogenic plants and fungi, each with their own benefits and properties.

MUSHROOMS

(PSILOCYBIN & PSILOCIN)

AYAHUASCA

(DMT/MAOI)

CACTI
